Stay at Hotel Colorado and Soak in Mineral Baths

The new Yampah Mineral Baths at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort are open and we at Hotel Colorado couldn’t be more thrilled to spread the news and welcome guests to take the plunge!

The historic hot springs pool is just steps from our front doors. With such proximity, Hotel Colorado guests can be among the first to experience the newly-opened, innovative five pools at the east end of the resort, along with the two historic pools, and the always-exciting Sopris Splash Zone.

Introducing the Yampah Mineral Baths

The world’s largest hot springs pool just got even better! Glenwood Hot Springs Resort recently unveiled the Yampah Mineral Baths, a new soaking experience, located at the east end of the pool. The addition features five spacious pools all brimming with mineral-rich water from the Yampah source spring. To further encourage guests to embrace a sense of blissful relaxation, there is a spacious shade pergola and an outdoor lounging area with a fireplace.

As a family-friendly resort, the Yampah Mineral Baths are designed for everyone to enjoy throughout the day; after 5 p.m., however, they transform into an adults-only sanctuary, perfect for winding down after a day of adventure in Glenwood Springs.

The Yampah Mineral Baths are not just about soaking; they’re predominantly about embarking on a geothermal journey that spans a range of temperatures, from the refreshing Inhale Cold Plunge to the toasty temps of the Cascade Waters pool. Transitioning between the various pools is touted to invigorate the body, boost immunity, reduce inflammation, improve mood, and increase metabolism. Best of all, it feels fantastic!

Healing Waters

The Yampah Mineral Baths are more than just a luxurious addition to the world-famous hot springs; they are steeped in history and healing. The Ute people, among the earliest discoverers of the therapeutic hot springs, named them Yampah, meaning “big medicine.” The source spring provides a continuous flow of 122°F mineral-laden water, gushing at an incredible rate of 3.5 million gallons per day! This therapeutic water also fills the historic Grand Pool and Therapy Pool.

An All-Day Water Adventure

At the western end of the resort is the Sopris Splash Zone, a fun, family-inclusive area that encourages play-filled water activity. Hotel guests can easily see Shoshone Chutes, a fast-moving river ride, from the Hotel Colorado courtyard. The Zone also includes Hanging Lake, named after the nearby famous falls and hiking trail. Unlike the National Natural Monument in Glenwood Canyon where swimming is not allowed, kids can splash and play in the landscaped wading pool and even explore behind the waterfall feature. Rounding out the water-park-like play area is the Grand Fountain, a haven for toddlers and their parents. At night, the water fountain dazzles as an eye-catching, multi-colored centerpiece of the resort that is best appreciated from the Glenwood Springs Pedestrian Bridge, also just steps away from the Hotel Colorado.
